about

Retrograce is Brother Kestrel's second release following the release of Dusk in December 2020. Inspired by a journey through an intense thunderstorm on an open road, Retrograce illustrates feelings of determination and a driven willpower to move forward at all costs.

lyrics

[Verse 1]
Making my way up, step by step
Until I can’t tell my right from my left
Tell me, is this as good as it gets?
Having to crawl back, beat and bereft?

[Pre-Chorus]
When all it takes is time
And time is all it takes
Owning what is mine
As I rest and as I wake

[Chorus]
A flash of lightning strikes the sky
A mile wide across my eyes
Water blurring the road signs
The black and gold, the green and white
Solitary spots are blind
What a lonesome path to find
My way back to those arms

[Verse 2]
Never forget who I used to be
Thinking the world would bend around me
Through all the years of endless sleep
I finally have the strength to believe

[Pre-Chorus]
When all it takes is time
And time is all it takes
Owning what is mine
As a master of my fate

[Chorus]
A flash of lightning strikes the sky
A mile wide across my eyes
Water blurring the road signs
The black and gold, the green and white
Solitary spots are blind
What a lonesome path to find
My way back to those arms

[Chorus]
A flash of lightning strikes the sky
A mile wide across my eyes
Water blurring the road signs
The black and gold, the green and white
Solitary spots are blind
What a lonesome path to find my way
Back to you
Back to you
Back to you
Back to you
